The triennial General Convention of the Episcopal Church meets this summer from July 8-17 in Anaheim, California. Beginning Sunday, June 28 we will convene a General Convention Forum in the Board Room from 9:15 to 10:15 am. We will meet for two Sundays (6/28 and 7/5) before General Convention, once during Convention (7/12) and once following the conclusion (7/19). Nursery will be open for children under 5, ages 5+ will have supervised activities in the youth house. This will be an opportunity to discuss, anticipate and react to the work of Convention and the many resolutions (currently 243 are published) to come before the Convention.
General Convention is a combination of legislative assembly, bazaar of goods and services and family reunion. It is one of the most exciting and, truth be told, one of the most awe-inspiring gatherings in the world. Below is a brief explanation of the structure of the General Convention.
