Accounting Manager

A global software company has a need for an Accounting Manager at their Atlanta, GA office location. The individual in this role will work closely with the Controller to maintain the general and subsidiary ledgers, setting up accounting processes, perform financial close, and prepare financial statements; will also work with various other accounting and reporting activities, including administering our stock option program, preparing various account reconciliations, and performing financial analyses.
Responsibilities:
Ø       Maintain general and subsidiary ledgers.
Ø       Prepare various financial statements and reports and reporting packets.
Ø       Assist with accounting system maintenance, wire transfers, bank reconciliation.
Ø       Forecast daily cash flow.
Ø       Assist external auditors with their quarterly reviews and year-end audits.
Ø       Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts and perform financial analysis of monthly operating results and revenue / expense variances.
Essential Education, Skills, and Environment:
Candidates must have a B.A. or B.S. in Accounting and/or Finance with at least five years experience. The qualified applicant must have the drive to succeed in a newly created role and the flexibility to thrive in a start-up environment.
Ø       Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance with at least five years accounting experience.
Ø       Experience with SOP 97-2 and software revenue accounting is a plus (Mandatory)!
Ø       You must have the revenue recognition and software industry experience to be considered for this position!
Ø       Excellent time management and problem solving skills.
Ø       Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ø       Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Ø       Creative ability and aptitude to present large amounts of information in a clear, concise and meaningful manner.
Equipment and Software Applications:
Ø       PC and various software applications, particularly Excel, G/L packages.  Experience with MAS500 and/or Softrax is a plus.
Salary will commensurate with experience; however salary range for this position is $70k to $75k with bonus!
