CCYA is seeking to step outside the traditional Group Home model to create a new and innovative curriculum and model for homeless youth in state custody living in a congregate setting. CCYA is seeking new leadership to manage and lead staff and residents into excellence and achievement. CCYA is not a punitive or punishment driven organization. We are not a detention center, nor are we a residential treatment facility or mental health hospital. WE ARE A HOME and WE PARENT AND GUIDE CHILDREN.
CCYA is aggressively moving to a residential dormitory style model whose mission is to provide youth with guidance and equip them with life skills for self sufficiency while creating community connections that will follow them into adulthood.
We are seeking leadership to help build a strong resident driven program for achievement which includes youth participation in dormitory governance, activities planning, youth apprenticeships, and opportunities to explore individual expression and celebrate personal achievement. Program management will be based on a dormitory model which will include quarterly elections of Resident Youth Delegates, Dormitory Meetings, Sponsored dorm activities and events, and shared dorm chores and responsibilities.
