Controller

One of the world largest manufacturer’s has an immediate need for a Controller at there Savannah, GA corporate office. This Controller role requires an individual who is very hands-on, and has no problem with performing the mechanical work needed to prepare a set of accounts. The primary responsibilities will include preparation of financial statements, preparation and reporting of annual budgets and forecasts, analysis of actual results vs. budget & forecast, management of product cost and profitability analysis, and is the liaison with external auditors and tax preparers. The challenge in this role will be helping with the development and introduction of an entirely new model into the Savannah factory during the course of 2010. Additionally, the business unit currently stands alone, but will merge this to make just one manufacturing business unit. This will require substantial systems work and will provide a great opportunity to understand our systems, to shape the future development of the company’s systems, and to work closely with our MIS team.

Responsibilities:

Ø       Preparation of Management Accounts and reporting of results to UK Group

Ø       Inventory accounting

Ø       Intercompany - reconciliation of payables & receivables

Ø       General ledger - preparing and posting journal entries

Ø       General ledger - researching and correcting general ledger account discrepancies

Ø       General ledger - reconciling and balancing of assigned general ledger accounts

Ø       Fixed asset accounting

Ø       Bank reconciliations

Ø       Costing and variance analysis

Ø       Maintenance and analysis of bills of material

Ø       Maintenance of GRNI accruals / supplier statement reconciliations

Ø       Forecasting

Ø       Analyzing margin, fixed and variable costs

Ø       Assisting with budget, cost and variance analysis

Ø       Financial support for new product introductions

Ø       Liaison to external auditors

Qualifications:

Candidates must have a minimum of 6-years of experience with accounting management, general ledger and financial reporting required, 4 years in a managerial role with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance. A CPA/CMA accreditation strongly preferred, but not mandatory! Previous Public accounting experience highly valued. Candidates for this position must be detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based environment. Exceptional communication skills (both verbal & written) with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with all levels of the organization. SAP software system experience preferred, but not essential! There is no relocation package with this position!

Salary will commensurate with experience; however salary range for this position is $85k to $95k!
