Lindesfarne
Well today was very different! It is 12:30 in the in the afternoon and are just on our way to Jedburgh Abbey but we had a little detour. Everyone was getting quite comfortable when all of a sudden there was a loud bang!! A kid had thrown a rock and shattered the emergency exit window! No one was hurt because the glass didn’t fall apart. So Dave, the driver, got out and spoke to the kid and called the cops. To make a long story short, Claire and Erin (me) were the witnesses and had to go down to the police station because the kid was arrested. So as we went to the station, all the others went to the Durham Cathedral while the girls were being interviewed. We entered the canteen (lounge) for the interview, Claire sat at the table with Phil and I was on the couch with Ian. What happened to the nice American policeman? These guys were the nicest people we had ever met! Ian, Phil, another Ian, and our escort to the police station Will, were amazing! It’s amazing how guys do not know where the woman’s bathroom is! There is always one guy who does, so Ian had to call a buddy! Brian was with us the whole time and read both of our statements and signed them! Then, being the policeman he was, he asked to look at their cars! BMW police wagons and cars! Look at some weapons and found out that only 4 police officers carry guns on them throughout the whole building! I heard the cathedral was beautiful! We didn’t get out in time to go see it but there are many pictures!

Meghan and I were the mistaken wake up calls! No one woke up on time except for the leaders and us! After everyone rushed to make the bus, we got to Lindisfarne right on schedule! Thirty minutes is all that it took to arrive at the coast of England! We had to make sure that we made it across to the island before the tide came in! There were no bridges to get over to the island, only roads that would be covered by water. This was one amazing site to see! The Priory was small but beautiful! The Saint Mary’s church that we would worship in later was over 1,300 years old! An island big enough to take an hours walk and make it all the way around was so beautiful and just full of life! We had an experience with lunch though! We could not find anything appetizing but soon ate at The Ship restaurant!
The water is clear and cold, smooth for skipping stones, beautiful meadows and grass! The scenery took, once again, everyone’s breath away!  Everyone could do whatever they want and it was hard to lose people! Some visited the Lindisfarne Castle, while others walked along the beaches!  This was one day that was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the gorgeous view!!!
The even song service that was held in the Church was very different. We all sat up with the rector and alter. It’s hard to explain, but it was breath-taking!!!
