What Joy We Shared on October 8th!
On Sunday, October 8, as we entered the conference room at the Amberley
Suites Hotel and saw the love lights shining so brightly on the faces of
the 25 couples who had just completed the Marriage Encounter Weekend, we
felt a renewal of our own love for each other. As we joined in the
verses of "There's a New World Somewhere," we could not help having smiles
on our faces and tears in our eyes as we heard the lovely voices of so
many couples raised in song to celebrate their marriages and the completion
of their Weekend journey from Friday night to Sunday afternoon.
Our gracious God's abundance was so very evident in the joy and sense
of accomplishment from the newly encountered couples and the Atlanta Marriage
Encounter Community couples as well. Couples from California to Maine
were praying for the presenting teams and all the couples on the Weekend,
and the wonder at the fruits of those prayers was overwhelming.
As Gary & Terry Baker passed the Community Candle to us on Sunday,
they said, "This candle, which has burned in our midst all Weekend, was
lighted as the Presenting Couples and Community - these folks who have
just come in to greet us - gathered for prayer just before we began the
Weekend on Friday night. It has been here for us as a sign of the
love and prayers offered for us during this Weekend. We now pass
it back with our love and thanks to your Area Coordinating Couple, Ron
& Connie Bergeron." Our feeling were gratitude and awe for all
our wonderful Atlanta E.M.E. volunteers who came together 24/7.
Heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed so generously of their
time, prayers and loving hearts to make this Weekend a reality. Please
plan now to attend Community Renewal/Weekend Reunion on Saturday, October
21st and help welcome the newly encountered couples. (Invitation
enclosed)
We have enclosed a brochure for you to share with couples who may wish
to register for our next M.E. Weekend March 16-18, 2001. A Community
Information Night is scheduled for Nov. 12 from 5-6pm. Consider coming
and bring couples you think may be interested in making a M.E. Weekend;
please call us at 770-951-1411 for directions.
Thank you all with love,

WEEKEND REUNION
Many volunteers are needed to make our Weekends go well: Friday night -
couples to help greet arriving couples, carry bags to rooms, write caring
letters; Prayer Couples to pray specifically for one special couple and
be at the Sunday close; Couples to pray continually throughout the Weekend
for all of the couples on the Weekend; punch and cake providing couples
for Sunday's reception. Plan now to come and meet the wonderful
Atlanta E.M.E. Community volunteers and get to know them better.
An invitation and directions are enclosed. See you October
21st at 6pm with hugs and lots of fun! |
