St. Catherine's Youth Pilgrimage 2003

June 7

A dark and damp start to the pilgrimage.
 
Saturday / 6.7.03; After a VERY early morning, complete with rain and Jim
having to turn around mid-way home because of things left in the van, we
barely made it on the flight.  As soon as most people sat down, however,
they were soon fast asleep, as evidence from our pictures.  We had an
uneventful flight (with the exception of Jackson being kicked throughout the
flight by the little girl behind him, Catherine scared of the bathroom
boogie man, etc.) and landed on time in Denver, minus two bags.

After picking up the vans and eating in a local mall to satisfy everyone's
hunger, we headed to .... WALMART to ensure that we had the appropriate
carbohydrates to make the trip successful.  The fully LOADED vans moved onto
the Garden of the Gods (in Colorado Springs).  After some serious hiking
(including Catherine's spiritual encounter with God), crosses were
distributed and the search for God began in earnest.  The day ended with our
stay in the Chapel of our Savior, in the Broadmore area of Colorado Springs.
After pizza and reviewing the day, we went to bed in a very hot church.
