Items new in email this week marked with *** DATES THIS WEEK Youth Pool Party this Wednesday, July 21 -- RSVP by July 20 -- There will be a special Wednesday Night Live pool party for all youth, 6-8 pm at the Starrs’ residence, 3458 Turtle Cove Court, Marietta, GA 30067 (NOTE: this is a correction from the Parish Announcements email on July 6). The carpool van will leave the church parking lot at 5:45 PM and return approximately 8:15 PM. RSVP to Keith Dumke (keith@fusegraphicsatlanta.com) by Tuesday, July 20. Be sure to bring a towel and change of clothes. Summer Parish Meeting this Sunday, July 25, 9:15 am -- All are invited to the Summer Parish Meeting between the services at 9:15 am. You will hear brief reports from our Youth Search Committee, Financial Team, and Christian Nurture and Development, plus plenty of time for your questions and comments. Come and be a part of this great time to gather as a community of faith. Acolyte Pool Party this Sunday, July 25 -- RSVP by July 20 to Barbara Barrington . All acolytes and their families are invited to come celebrate summer and enjoy some time together. 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Meadowgrove Pool and Clubhouse, 850 Meadowgrove Way, Marietta, GA 30067. Hamburgers, hot dogs and dessert will be provided. Please bring a side dish to share. We look forward to seeing everyone! Jubilate Choir singers -- Join the Jubilate Choir at services this Sunday, July 25. Rehearsals are Tuesday evening and Saturday morning. Do your gift and Christmas list shopping now -- stop by the Cookbook Table after both services on Sundays through August 15 to order your cookbooks, only $15 each (with your payment, check or cash, please). Don't be disappointed -- get your order in by August 15th to ensure that you will get a copy. - Name the Cookbook -- Submit your suggestions for the title of our 50th Anniversary cookbook on the Opportunities for Ministry in your bulletin, or email to amymorris@73yahoo.com or sallyp30@comcast.net. Deadline for submissions is August 1. The winner will be announced at the Cookbook Preview and Tasting Party on Aug 15, 5:30 pm, and will receive a free copy of the book. *** Cooks wanted -- We have selected some sample appetizers and desserts to be featured at our August 15 preview party and we need help.Sign-up sheets will be available at the Cookbook sale table. We will provide the recipe and let you know how many servings you need to prepare. New Men's morning Bible study -- your input requested. All men of the parish -- Would you be interested in a weekly morning Bible study for an hour and a half? Ministry Teams Quarterly Meeting next Tuesday, July 27-- 7 pm in the Parish Hall. All committees and ministry teams, be sure to have a representative of your group at this important meeting. We will focus on plans for the Ministry Fair. All are welcome to join us and learn about ministry at St. Cat’s. Ministry Directory updates due July 27 -- **All committees** should review and update their information in the St. Catherine’s Ministry Directory for publication in August. Last year’s sections were sent to all ministry teams in June. Please return information to Karen Manno, Karen@stcatherines.org. Financial Peace University -- previews every Sunday -- Our third adult FPU class starts August 15 at 3:30-5:30 pm with Walt and Gail McGill facilitating. Informational previews will be held Sundays through August 15 at 9:30 a.m. in the Boardroom, room 301. FPU is a 13-week life-changing program that empowers and teaches you how to make the right money decisions to achieve your financial goals and God's plan for your life. The course includes practical lessons on eliminating debt, building wealth, giving like never before, and much, much more! Personal Finance course for High School Youth -- Dave Ramsey's fun and entertaining 8-week study on personal finance, "Generation Change," empowers youth with the skills to spend and live wisely, using sound, biblical principles for winning with money. The 8-week program will be held Sunday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. beginning August 15. Cost of the program is just $25.00 for each participant, class size will be limited to 16. Young Families Dinner & Mini Golf Saturday, July 31 -- Please join us for dinner or golf or both. No need to RSVP, we look forward to seeing you there! 6:00 pm Dinner will be at Stevi B’s, 50 Barrett Parkway, Marietta 30066, www.stevibs.com/georgia/49. 7:00 pm Miniature Golf at Mountasia, 175 Barrett Pkwy, Marietta 30066, www.mountasia.com/site/marietta. Each family will pay their own meal and activity costs. Our Young Families group is designed for folks with children ages 12 and younger. We meet as families for a great opportunity for children to play together outside of church, plus additional adult-only events for their parents to have grown-up fellowship. School supplies collection -- In conjunction with our Annual Back-to-School supplies ingathering for MUST, Girl Scout Troop 2211 is organizing a school supply drive for children in the East Cobb area whose families cannot afford school supplies. Please consider donating one or more of the following school supplies to help children in need. We will leave the church at 10:00 am. Cost is $17 per person for the tour and van transportation, plus whatever you choose for your Dutch treat lunch.
