St. Elizabeth's, Whiterocks, Utah
July 17 - 25, 2004

Saturday, July 17

The day started early with an 8:30 AM departure from the church. Our flight was on time and very pleasant (for future reference row 13 on a 767 does not have a window - ask Father Jim). Landing in Salt Lake City right on time we gathered luggage and cars and prepared for the 3 hour drive to Whiterocks.
We arrived just in time for dinner where Sue introduced us to the community gathered for a chili supper.

We celebrated Ivana and Carol Eskew's birthday as the pictures prove. A good time was had by all.
We are now getting our sleeping accommodations prepared for the evening. All of us are tired from the long trip and the two hour time change (we'll probably be roaming around throughout the night. The women are in the parish hall and the men in the church. We'll rise early tomorrow for worship at 10:00 AM and then a day of getting oriented for the week.

We thank you for your prayers and hope that you will continue to think of and pray for us as we will for you. The weather is dry and hot although there are thunderstorms all around us but the mountains seem to keep the rain away from Whiterocks. We'll send some more pictures tomorrow.
