| What a great day it was, but
are we tired! Jamie was reminded today of her question, "Why don't we do
VBS five days?" She was asked, "Now do you see why?" She did!
We thought the Church of the Holy Spirit who had joined us throughout the week wouldn't be able to be here. They were and we were delighted. We learned about Jesus calming the storm with his disciples in the boat on the Sea of Galilee. We heard two rousing renditions of the story; the first where the audience was the storm and the second where they were the disciples in the boat. A good time was had by all. We made oceans in a bottle and sand crosses. We had a beach treasure hunt and we had beach games with lots of water, sponges, and a kiddy pool. We had a snack that looked like a boat at sea and we had hot dogs and French fries for lunch. With the beach day games we went through literally gallons of lemonade, apple juice and water. |

| We celebrated Andi's birthday when her mom brought 48 cupcakes to be shared with the other kids. She was a little embarrassed at first but had a broad grin by the time we stopped singing "Happy Birthday to you." | ||

| The team collapsed after the kids left, But the day was not over. We prepared 96 pieces of chicken and 18 slabs of baby back ribs here at the church and then traveled to Red Fleet State Park to bar-b-que both and share them with our brothers and sisters at St. Elizabeth's. A wonderful time was had by all. Members of the community presented each of us with gifts so that we might be able to cook back home as well. You'll have to ask! | ||

| Tomorrow we begin preparations
for the marriage ceremony of our friends Bruce and Judy. The teepee must
be put up. A stage built for the altar and all sorts of other decorations
- where is Martha Stewart when you need her.
We are in charge of the rehearsal dinner tomorrow night for 50 people. We are sure getting our workout when it comes to cooking. We are remembering each of you day to day and especially those who are sick. We ask that you keep us in your prayers as this wonderful trip comes to an end. |
