Vestry

The Vestry is the board of directors for the church and is responsible for overseeing its operation including finances, facilities, personnel and policies. Members are elected by the congregation for a three-year term, with four members rotating off each year. They meet with the rector, associate rector, and church officers on the third Tuesday of the month. Vestry members also serve as facilitators for each of the church’s Leadership Teams.

The Senior and Junior Wardens head the Vestry. At St. Catherine’s the Junior Warden is elected by the Vestry for one year and becomes Senior Warden for the subsequent year.

Vestry Retreat Jim Nixon, 770.971.2839 x202

The Vestry meets in retreat on the first weekend of February and in August. These retreats are designed to develop our team and to build community. The February retreat is mandatory for all Vestry members. This retreat allows the opportunity to look to the year ahead with goals and objectives and to establish Vestry liaison relationships with our Ministry Teams. The August retreat is usually a time for us to gather before the beginning of the fall program and is driven by specific needs that vary by year.
