Congratulations to all of St Catherine’s Class of 2004 graduating seniors. We thought it would be nice to introduce our High School graduates and tell you about their future plans to help you get to know them a little better. They were recognized at the 8:45 service on Sunday, May 23rd.

Julia Denton is graduating from Kennesaw Mountain High School. Julia has been on the yearbook staff for 4 years and was the Asst. Editor this year. She was also active in the Jr. Classical League, the Dance Team, and Diving Team. Julia danced at the Academy of Ballet Arts for 11 years, performed with the Academy Dance Company for 5 years – in her spare time this year, she worked part time at Center Stage on the Square in Marietta. She was nominated “Wittiest” for Sr. Superlatives. Julia’s has been very active at St Cats as an Acolyte, a member of the Jr. Choir, a Youth Reader and a member of the St Cat’s Youth Council. She went on Pilgrimage to South Dakota and the Mission Trip to West Virginia.  She has also been very involved at the Diocesan and National levels, first with New Beginnings and Happening, both as an attendee and on staff and also on the Diocesan Youth Council. She has attended the PYE in North Carolina and the EYE [National event] in Wyoming. She was invited to represent Diocese of Atlanta at the Province Youth Event Planning last year, and will attend the PYE event this summer. Julia preached the Youth Sermon in March 2004 and will preach this Sunday when we recognize all of the graduating seniors. Julia plans to attend Converse College in Spartanburg, SC. Her grandmother graduated in 1949, for which Julia will receive a legacy scholarship.

Scott Hueke is graduating from Harrison High School. Scott has been a member of St Catherine’s for 15 years and was baptized here and confirmed at St Philips. Scott has been involved in many Youth activities and fundraisers. He participated in the mission trip to West Virginia and the pilgrimage to South Dakota. He attended numerous camps at Camp Mikell and made friends from around the Diocese. The friendship and support from the members of St Catherine’s have played an important part in Scott’s life. Scott plans to study mechanical engineering at the University of Nebraska.

Katrina Ivey is graduating from Wheeler High School.  She worked on the Yearbook staff and is a member of the Quill & Scroll (journalism) Honor Society. She recently was inducted into The National Art Honor Society and has been a member of the Thespians, a national honor society for the theater arts. Katrina will attend The University of the South, Sewanee, TN in the fall.

Preston Paris is graduating from Wheeler High School. At Wheeler, he was a member of the Swim team. Preston has been an acolyte at St Catherine’s for 7 years. Preston has been involved with the youth group and went on the South Dakota Pilgrimage. Throughout High School Preston has coached swimming and worked as a lifeguard. He was confirmed here and is a Youth Reader. Preston plans to attend the State University of West Georgia in the fall.

Trisha Roberts is graduating from Wheeler High School.  She was a member of the Wheeler "Wildcat Pride" Band for all four years.  As a result, she received a four-year award from the Band.  The last two years have been very difficult for Trisha, as she had to help take care of her father, while attending school and being part of the Band.  She plans to go to Chattahoochee Technical College and take the Culinary Arts Program. Trisha was confirmed at St Cats and participated in the Pilgrimage Trip.  She worked in the Nursery for three years.  Due to her school commitments and taking care of her father, she is no longer working in the Nursery. Her family is very proud of Trisha.

M.E. (Mary Elizabeth) Schnorf had lived in 5 states by the time she was in the third grade. She was born in Ohio and moved to Charleston, SC for her first birthday.  She moved to Norfolk, VA and then to Marietta to start her school career at Murdock Elementary. M.E. moved to Maryland for a year and then back to Marietta to complete her education.  M.E. has been very active in St. Catherine’s and Diocesan Youth programs, including The Youth Council, EYE, PYE, the Mission Trip to West Virginia, the Pilgrimage to South Dakota and multiple “Happenings” and “New Beginnings” events at Camp Mikell. She has also been an acolyte and a youth reader.  M.E. is on her way to The State University of West Georgia in the fall.

Camille Seneviratne is graduating from McEachern High School. At McEachern she was a cheerleader and played recreational baseball.  At St Catherine’s she has been on the Youth Council, confirmed and participated in the South Dakota pilgrimage and several retreats. Camille plans to attend Kennesaw State University in the fall and she is interested in pursuing a degree in Physical Therapy.

Kelly Snook is graduating from Lassiter High School. At Lassiter, she is a member of the National Honor Society, the Beta Club, Mu Alpha Theta and Renaissance. Growing up she competed successfully in gymnastics and cheerleading. She has been at St Catherine’s since 1994, and has been active in the Youth Program and an Acolyte for the past 7 years. She also participated in the South Dakota pilgrimage. In the fall, Kelly plans to enter Georgia Tech where she will major in Bio Medical Engineering.

Marilyn Whitlow has completed all of her requirements for a college prep diploma from Independence High School in Roswell.  She applied to Kennesaw State University and hopes to attend school there in the fall.
